Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Young Singles Ministry?

The young singles ministry is specifically designed for young adults between the ages of 18-34. It is divided into two different groups (18-22) for college students and (23-34) for young singles. It is a ministry of Prestonwood Baptist Church and offers a variety of opportunities to meet other people within your age group, life stage and that share common values and beliefs.

When does the Young Singles Ministry meet?

We meet every Saturday evening at 7:30 in the West Wing Room #212 and Sunday morning at 11:00 in the Student Life Building of Prestonwood Christian Academy. The West Wing is located in the main building and the Student Life Building is located on the southwest side of our campus next to PCA “Lions Stadium”. Many of our young singles attend the worship services of Prestonwood Baptist Church that are offered on Saturday evenings at 6:00 or on Sunday mornings at 9:15.

What takes place in the Young Singles Ministry?

Defined by our core values, it is our desire to offer a worship experience and biblical teaching centered upon Christ and his Word. Whether Saturday evening or on Sunday morning, you can expect to be greeted by young adults your age. You will also have the opportunity to develop deeper relationships in our small groups or Adult Bible Fellowship classes. We offer six different Bible Fellowship classes ranging from large classes of 60 to smaller classes of 15.

When I go to a Worship Service is there a place where the young singles sit?

We usually sit in section 100 on Saturday evenings at the 6:00 service and in section 300 on Sunday mornings at the 9:15 service. Walking into the worship center this is located to your left.

How should I dress?

Wear clothes. Saturday evenings are very casual. You will not be out of place in jeans. Sunday mornings are a bit dressier with khakis and a button-down being the norm for guys and dresses and dress pants for the ladies.

Where do I park?

The majority of our young singles park in the parking lot of the Prestonwood Christian Academy High School Building. This enables you to walk immediately from your car into the building, but is most convenient for when leaving your ABF and exiting the property.

What are Adult Bible Fellowships?

Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) classes are offered on Sat. nights and Sunday mornings on the campus of Prestonwood Baptist Church . These classes immediately follow our worship services and are designed to allow members and guests a chance to get “plugged in” to the life of our ministry primarily through developing new friendships. ABF’s range in size and are usually taught by peers your own age. It is in these classes that friendships are forged, service and mission projects take place and using your spiritual gifts are exercised. Most classes meet for 45 minutes and are centered upon learning practical truths from the Bible.

Do I have to sign-up to go to a Bible Fellowship?

No, all you have to do is show up to the ABF you would like to visit.

How do I join a Bible Fellowship class?

To join a Bible Fellowship class, all you have to do is visit the class, fill out a Bible Fellowship Registration form and check the box “Would like to join this class.”

Do I have to be a member of the church to join an ABF?

No, you can be a member of a Bible Fellowship class without being a member of the church.

If I visit an ABF do I have to stay in there?

No, we actually encourage you to visit as many classes as you would like to see what your options are. We want you to find the class that bests fits you.

Do I have to visit each class before I join a class?

That is up to you. If you find a class that you love the first week, you can join.

Where do I go to find information about the classes and upcoming events?

The best place to find information is under Small Groups on the main page. Each class has a description and contact info. You can also click on Serving and see all of the young singles mission projects and the calendar to see the events coming up. Once you join a class, you will receive an e-mail each week with all the week’s events for your specific class.
