by Jarrett Stephens on August 1 September 14 is the start of Metro! So, what's Metro...well to sum it up Metro is a ministry of Prestonwood that seeks to present the gospel to young singles and college students while also providing moving worship experience. But how did it become the movement many people know and love? Check out the blog to see a quick recap of the past 10 years and we will see you at Metro.

by Jarrett Stephens on July 1 A few weeks ago I was headed to Panama City to speak at a camp for about 300 junior high and high school students. This would be the first "road trip" that my family and I would be going on and needless to say, I was a little nervous about twelve hours in a car with a five month old and two and half year old. But I soon came to realize that God would place me in other opportunities on that trip that would test my faith and commitment to Christ...

by Curtis Cook on June 15 Have you ever wondered why we serve Boston three times a year? Or how come so many use their vacation time for a mission trip? Curtis Cook, Pastor of Hope Fellowship in Boston MA, helps show us how the church started, there approach to serving the community and makes prayer suggestions for the city and people of Boston. Let us know if there is any way we can help you serve Boston this year!

by Jarrett Stephens on June 1 I don't have any predictions as to who will win the NBA Finals. The Celtics and Lakers are great teams with a solid core of stars in their lineups. But, I will make one prediction: You will see throughout this series teamwork at its best. You will see selflessness, and a desire to win above any personal gain. We love championship games because of this reason. The questions is, "How are you contributing to the team?"

by Janet Hamilton on May 15 Support for a belief widely held by people of faith is coming from an unusual place: Hollywood. Ben Stein, an actor generally known for his role in Ferris Bueller's Day Off has recently directed and appeared in a new movie, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. In this documentary, Stein explores the role of intelligent design in the academic world. The question: Is America losing its freedom of speech in the world of science?

by Heather Adams on May 1 Missions can be a scary word, and in 2005 I ended up in India...on mission. Mission is defined by www.dictionary.com as a group or committee of persons sent to a foreign country to conduct negotiations, establish relations, provide scientific and technical assistance, perform a service or carry on an activity. But is that all missions is? Isn't there more to it that just what www.dictionary.com says?

by Bo Patterson on April 1 A few weeks ago I attended a conference at Prestonwood about how to better reach 20 and 30 something's. Apparently the church as a whole is having a hard time relating to our needs and communicating to our lifestyle. The speaker noted that while the church needs to step it up it might be futile because he believes we are becoming a lost generation. Specifically we have lost God's word...

by Bo Patterson on March 1 What is your favorite T.V. game show? Is it Deal or No Deal? Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? Maybe a classic like Wheel of Fortune? Or even something intellectual like Jeopardy? Each one of these shows keeps our attention because we want the average Joe to conquer all odds and win the prize. My question to you is, "Are you prepared for the opportunities God places in your life so that you reap His heavenly rewards?"

by Chris Plunkett on Feb. 15 Having been the target of countless advertisements whether through television commercials or the billboards that litter the highways I can recognize pretty quickly when I'm being sold something. I've seen enough infomercials to know better. We have all become pretty sensitive to inconsistent messages. We even label them as "too good to be true." So how do we present ourselves to others? Do we live a life that is "too good to be true?"

by Janet Hamilton on Feb. 1 Everyday we are faced with a million choices. Some are trivial. What am I going to wear today? What am I going to do tonight? Others are more significant. Am I supposed to take this job? Is this guy/girl someone I should date or marry? Some of these choices have short-term effects and others will affect the rest of our lives. So how do we know what to choose? How can we make sure that we are making Godly decisions?

by Jarrett Stephens on Jan. 15 I love this time of year...I don't know if it's simply the idea of a fresh start or the chance to begin something new, but the turning of a calendar year always gets me excited. Every year around this time, I get my journal and begin to reflect on the year that has been as well as look ahead to the year that will be. Something I have always love to do is make resolutions and it seems that most of America does as well.
